PUPPY TRAINING (LEVEL 1)

The problems found in puppy, or preparative training, are that many owners (up to 85% according to national government surveys) and trainers tend to be short sighted in both the selection and the training of their dog, lack a proper knowledge of K-9 psychology, and as a result end up with pups that have been improperly selected, trained, and socialized, which results in psychotic, neurotic, socially, and physically disturbed pets. We make a living re-training many dogs that share these types of disturbed backgrounds.

ROTE TRAINING (LEVEL 2)

This level of training, (usually referred to as basic obedience), is normally accomplished with dogs ranging from 4 to 10 months. The type of behavior produced on this level of training is acceptable for a young puppy and permissible for a pup in puberty or maybe beginning adolescence, but is not acceptable for an adult dog. The normal dog owner has been taught to believe that this level of training will make their dog obedient. They take their dogs to group classes, taught by beginning or somewhat intermediate trainers, and expect professional results. However, this level of training is neither behaviorally oriented, nor strong enough to accomplish necessary goals. The behavioral work done of this level is usually referred to as “problem solving”, and uses punishment or negativity to threaten, force, or discourage dogs out of behaviors they have learned. Quite often, this type of conditioning only reinforces behaviors that owners want eliminated. AGAIN: We make our living re-training numerous dogs, as a last chance, life and death, hope against hope service, where we go in, fix the dog, transform its’ behavior, and guarantee the work for the life of the dog.

COMMAND TRAINING (LEVEL3)

This level of training, when done properly, requires prior conditioning and mental development in the dog. Many trainers try to force beginning dogs to perform on this level with incorrectly used compulsion. The results, of course, are traumatic on both the owner and the dog. Because of this, it is also a level which most dog owners and many dog trainers never approach with their dogs.

It is because of the conditioning used in this level of training that most dogs begin to learn to respond as mature, responsible pets. Most dogs do not progress to the level of command training; they behave in an immature, irresponsible fashion, and stay that way for life. This causes tremendous problems, especially in the areas of specialized problem resolution. We take every dog to this level in our training. In doing so we raise their maturity level, teach them to use their conscious minds, to communicate, and respond, in a much more responsible manner, on a much higher level.

BEHAVIORAL RESOLUTION TRAINING

We use a totally different approach to behavioral resolution than any other school in our industry. First of all we start off with a comprehensive behavioral evaluation with each dog, covering genetic, environmental, and family oriented potentials. Then we go to work individually, according to the instincts, temperament, and owner related concerns of each dog we train. We attack behavior, focusing the training, teaching the dog all the yeses, in a super positive way, to attack the dogs subconscious, countering the behaviors we want to replace or transform. It makes all the difference in the world. We allow the dog to naturally choose to accept the behaviors we desire as a part of our conditioning. As a result, our resolution training is much more positive, less traumatic, and lasting. The dogs end up responding the way we desire habitually, and therefore behave the way we desire naturally.

INSTINCT OR OFF-LEASH TRAINING (LEVEL 4)

At this level you return to many aspects of the puppy training you enjoyed, using food and toys in training, and mixing compulsion and play to create a stronger bond between dog and handler. Because of the decisions and commitments you and your dog have made in training, you have a wealth of background to draw upon. So, at this point, your instruction will change. Your dog has been taught to perform and knows exactly what is expected and how to perform each command. Now, your conditioning can naturally become more personal, more intimate, and a little more relaxed. At the same time you can stop, integrate other levels and areas of training, maintain intensity, and return to this level as desired and needed. However, on this level you are going to teach your dog to respond from greater distances, using a wider spectrum of divergence in distractions and difficulties. As you do, you are going to teach your dog to respond faster, more resolute, and with greater competence.

TEAM TRAINING (LEVEL 5)

This level of training It is fundamentally the result of sensitive, artistic knowledgeable application proper training, over a period of months, or years, of intense instruction. Many excellent trainers may spend years developing their skills, before they come to this point with any dog. However, once you experience this type of relationship, nothing else will ever do. Our training is geared towards preparing your dog to perform on this level, and share this type of training relationship. By learning and following our methods for training, you will get there faster, and maintain this level of training with less work.
